Do work in a thrift store? If you do, do you get free clothes or first pick and buy it at a cheaper price than customers? Or do you take it for free? Just curious as to if workers at thrift stores get all the “good stuff”
Thanks

I see many of them in the malls and all over the place. Everytime I drive by, the store is empty and yet they are able to stay in business despite the heavy cost of rental space. How do they manage to stay in business for so long when it does not seem they are making any business??

Please comment.

I am going back to work and I am up for a position for a store manager for a store that is suffering due to the lack of a manager for the past few months. The store is near corporate so it needs to be taken to the next level with it’s visual merchandising. I have been told the staff is great but they lack direction. And with my low self esteem I am unsure that I will be able to provide the leadership that they need. How do you develop them to the next level? I know I can do the job. I have faith in my abilities yet, I just don’t know what I need to hear in order to feel more confident.

About 5 years ago, I worked at a deparment store. That particular location closed dued to low sales. Before I left, the store manager had quit for a different job, and I left before they found a new store manager. I’m wondering what I should put on future applications and resumes. Do I just omit this particular job? Or should I put something like “Store Now Closed” in the phone number/address area?

I don’t know if this will help, but I left on good terms with the company.

I am interested in leaving the company I’ve been working at for two years. I love the industry and what I do, but I dislike my company. I am interested in applying to careers at rival and partner companies within the online retail industry, but it is a small crowd… most people know one another and a lot of people talk. How do I apply to another company without my current company finding out and firing me? Your tips are appreciated!
