I’m a small-time investor. What are the advantages of me owning my own BVI company?
Smiling asked:
It seems so cool, but there must be a better reason. I’m not American so where I currently live I pay very little income tax and no capital gains tax so long as I stay out of my home country (which I’ve been doing for a few years already). Is it worth me owning a Brtish Virgins Island Company to store my money?

What happens to a company’s stock options when the company is acquired by either a private or public company?
Todd S asked:
In other words, if I buy a call option that expires in January 2010, and the company is aquired before that time, what happens to my right to buy shares in the acquired company? Am I compensated for the call option at the time of the acquisition? If so, at what price? Does my option (and right)disappear?

If the acquiring company is a publicly held company, I assume that the options just convert to an equivalent stock option in the acquiring company. Is this correct?
What happens when a private company purchases a public company?
coreysands_2000 asked:
I have shares in a company (under the previous name) and it was purchased by a private company. I still have shares that I would like to sell but they are under the previous companies name. Can anyone tell me what the process is to have these stocks changed into the name of the new company?

What person or persons representing a company in market trading manipulate the investors to invest or divest?
iswaswill asked:
Somewhere in each company, either in that company or working for that company, there is a marketeer, a person whose responsibility it is to get you and I to invest or divest ourselves of company stock for that company’s own reasons. Who is that person as in what is their actual title?

If you own shares of a company that is bought out, what happens to your stocks. Do you retain your shares but with the new company?
