kitty asked:

How do people generally store them so the home videos of the kids are safe for a lifetime?

If I put the videos on a harddrive, do I compress them with Winzip first?
what do you mean be HD?? Harddrive?

With mine I generally keep on my HD but ones I know I want to keep I’ll back up onto dvd rom. They take up a lot of space though so having them backed up is best bet.

    G’day,
Transfer the movie you have taken from the video camera to your had disk on your PC. You may like to edit to remove any “mistakes” you may have, otherwise, just transfer and store on hard disk.
If you do not have enough disk space, copy to DVD and keep the DVD in safe place.

Nowadays, had disk is relatively cheap $0.30 per GB. Hence you may consider buying a large disk (1 Terra Byte or more) and keep all your movies on disk for easy access.

    Hope this helps
