I didn’t know, so I googled it
HI,
No longer than a week in storage is usually recommended however I have just had 14 of 18 eggs hatch that were stored for 3 weeks before incubation.
Collect the eggs every day and put them in an egg carton. Write the day that they were layed in pencil on the shell so you know how old they are. Just make sure you turn stored eggs every day to stop the yolks from sticking to the membrane and dont put them in the fridge. Keep them at room temperature somewhere where the temperature doesnt vary much.
Are you planning on hatching them under a broody hen or an incubator? If under a hen its a good idea to buy some fake glass eggs (or hollow out some eggs and fill them with plaster) and put them in the nest so that the hen will go broody, then once you’re sure she’s ready replace the fake eggs with the fertile ones.
Goodluck! If you have any more questions let me know, I love the chooks!
