I have an 8 yr old stepson who has 1600+ Yu Gi Oh cards and they are a mess all over the house. What is the best way to store these? I thought about getting binders and those clear vinyl sheets that hold 9 cards, but was told those damage the cards and make it difficult for him to play with them.

What are some (easy and inexpensive) ways to store his cards that will protect the cards, make them accessible for him to play, and most importantly, keep them put up?

Get a few box’s, and ask him to sort them in to piles, by set. Then stick the cards in the box’s.

BTW, no, those binders don’t mess up cards, you just must keep the pages straight.

Comic book stores sell boxes that are separated into multiple rows (via cardboard dividers). This allows the cards to be sorted (monster, trap, etc.) via row, and the individual rows can then be sorted. The boxes themselves also store very easily on shelves, allowing them to be kept off the floor and prevent them from becoming obstacles.

Boxes, there are 500 count, 1000 count boxes that comic shops sell, you have to have an organizing system but it can be done like that.
The boxes have helped me, I do hope they help you.

Store them in card protectors, sae card protectors and the shop keeper will noe wads em. they protect the card from scratches.

and to store them, any box will do, shoe box too. buy urself a new pair of shoes while u giv the box to ur stepson (:

my bro hav yugioh cards and he stores all of them in card protectors bt he kept them in his cupboard so his card is well protected yet messy at the same time. lol.

Get a binder and a lot of card-holder pages. That’s what I use. It does not damage my cards at all. If that doesn’t work, get hundreds of card sleeves (If you really want to extremely protect the cards use the big heavy-duty plastic sleeves) and put the cards in the sleeves and store them in a huge box. The binder is the most accessible, although, I usually keep my best cards in card sleeves and the rest in the binder.
If you don’t really care about the condition of the cards, you can do what my friend does. He keeps out his best cards in card sleeves, and then unorganizedly dumps the rest in a trunk. (I don’t recommend that. The binder is the best and cheapest if you ask me.)

As doutfull as it may seem use binders and card pages.
A good idea is to seperate the types of monsters and traps and magics so that he can easily find the card by looking in a certain binder!
