On the US Apple store for a 32G iPod Touch it’s $499 which is approx. €320. However on the Irish apple store the same product is €430. Has is got something to do with the technology involved? Nothing is mentioned on the Apple store.

nothing to do with the technology, the stores are most probably selling on behalf of the manufacturer. To better explain this imagine tin of beans, i can buy that ti of beans at trade price for 9p, but to make a profit i add on 90p, but a rival store only adds on 70p. I may be wrong but i think that the stores are doing the same with ipod.

Its nothing to do with the technology; Apple regulates prices in Europe and in the US. In both they charge what they think they can get for the device. The US market is far more aggressive and they have to be more competitive. The thing to watch for is you might get hit up for taxes when it arrives from the US. Try having it sent to someone you know coming over and have them carry it back to you.

this is the famous $1=£1=€0.9 exchange rate. its designed to make more money out of us non US customers.

its not just apple its every American company! Its know as ripping of the customer while you can get way with it!

problem is you can only buy from the site relating to the country where you live.

The EU is trying to do something about this but the US government is fighting for this to stay! its a long ongoing rip off you just have to either put up with or emigrate to the US to take advantage of!
