What store has what I need to make a radio controlled vehicle I only need to know how to make a reciever and transmitter? Actually I’d prefer a kit that would come with instructions and everything I need. I’m making it with my little 9 year old brother so I need something that works well but is easy and hopefully cheap.

I doubt you can buy a kit like that in a store. You might be able to buy something like that over the TV or internet. Why don’t you just build something easier like a car model since your brother is only 9? Titans 40 Colts 3

A lot of fair sized towns have a store called _HobbyTowne USA_
They sell radios (i.e. sets including transmitter, receiver, servos, batteries and chargers). I don’t know of other chain stores, but most radio control equipment is sold locally through hobby shops you should be able to find in the yellow pages under hobbies — then look for ads with R/C or radio control, or just call the stores and ask if they have R/C equipment.

You need to pick a radio that’s on the right frequency range for the kind of vehicle you’ll use it in… 72MHz band for airplanes and helicopters; 75MHz band for cars, trucks, tanks, boats, etc. That’s for two reasons: 1) to comply with FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regulations and 2) to avoid causing nearby model airplanes or other vehicles to crash.

The instructions will show “typical” installations.

I would at least shop at the on line stores before buying — that way, even if you don’t buy on line, you will know what’s available. Al
